I see no pictures of African-Americans.  Do you do keratin treatments for us?

This is one industry that equality isn’t what it seams. African hair is different, sorry to state the obvious but you asked. We don’t have the experience with African hair to be experts in it, so if we can’t be the best at something we don’t advertise that we are, that’s would make us liar’s. In short we don’t do any African hair and the black salons in our city are happy about that we don’t. It’s like the nail business and Asians. In Shreveport, so far, there are White Salons and Black Salons the ones that try to do both struggle. I have a-lot of opinion of why but not enough time here.
These treatments were originally designed
for women of middle easteren descent. I am sure someone has used these treatments on African hair but I am not sure what kind of results they got. I am open to experimenting on some African hair but I can’t guarantee what type of results to expect. But I can guarantee its better that thioglycolic acid (the base for typical relaxer). I feel like the Keratin treatments can be done over relaxed hair to restore it. I would like to see a mild relaxer followed up with a Keratin treatment to see how that would work. The cost for that would be close to $400.00 so there are not many people lining up that. The reason for the high cost is the amount of time it would take. I am in a city that is 50% white and 50% black so I would love to tap into that other business. I have hired black stylist in the past and the stylist thought I was “the man” and I could not communicate with them. That choice along with others cost me a salon and about 15 years of rebuilding. After that I stick to what I can be the best at and leave the rest to others. I
could talk for hours about this subject of race in the hair industry and
race in America it is an interesting conversation that America needs to
revisit with some intellectual honesty. In short we are different in
beautiful ways and we should celebrate that difference and stop trying to
make everyone the same.

Where are you located? Do you do Asian hairs too?

We are Shreveport La. Yes this works great on Asian Hair.

what keratin treatment do you use and how long does it last and can you do it on platinum blonde hair?

We use Global Keratin, next week we will be doing the Global Keratin BEST. The BEST version is a new product we have a training class Monday we will start doing these new treatments Tuesday 7th. Yes it can and
is recommended for platinum blond hair. The product last from 4 to 5 months using proper shampoo and conditioners. Preferably the Global Keratin Line of products.

The Best Keratin Treatment has been a failure for us, 3 out of five had a bad smell to there hair.We used our in-salon keratin removal system and reapplied the origonal Keratin Treatment at no cost to the client, “of course.” 
 We are still using Global Keratin produst because they rock. 
Although there is a problem with the non-Formaldehyde treatments not just GK but all of them. Look, the smell is protien and protien is what we infusing onto the hair. Formaldehyde is a preservative and that stops the bad smell after the treatment. I am certain the chemical comapanys are working on a fix lets give them some time.

African americans do very well with this product! And anyone who does not understand texture should get out the hair business. Its not about black or white hair especialy when it comes to treatments. Keratin treatments do not break hair bonds they only rearange hair bonds making the hair stronger,shiner, with no frizz. THERE are products th smooth and straighten hair. mainly for that purpose to break bonds. be careful advertisment can lead you wrong if you are not informationable.  SEEK A PRO!

Hi Linda, Juvexin is great on African-american hair.I went to Atlanta to visit my daughter and she introduce me to her stylist for a Juvexin treatment.  I have had one for almost a year, I love it! I have naturally wave hair but can get thick at times. Juvexin makes blow drying and wash and wear a breeze. the only dis-advantage for me is that my hair grows  fast, usually Juvexin will last from 3 to 6 months before touch-up and I color my hair as well. Now it grows even faster and I can only last about 3.5 months before I feel I need it to look perfect. I do not put anymore perm relaxers on my hair. I can be costly but no more than having your perm and maintenance every 6 weeks. heylady_ld@yahoo.com

Hi, I just happened run across this site looking for Global Keratin/Juvexin products. Global Keratin/Juvexin is awesome for African American hair without the side affects of perms, from wavy to course hair. I live in California where just about everything is for everyone! I am African American and the second time I went for a Juvexin treatment I found a  Mexican American stylist to do my hair. She was a little apprehensive at first but I helped her feel at easy by knowing my hair type and and second it’s not hard. Juvexin is just like putting on a perm but less product with awesome results. The first time I had this done in Atlanta was about $200 to include the shampoo and conditioner to take home. In San Diego my second treatment was $125.00, my hair length now is shoulder length. Now for Caucasian clients it cost more IF there hair is a lot longer, however to charge $400 for someone with short to medium hair lengths is ridiculous and un-affordable for most. Times are hard but women still would like to look good! Stylist other than African American should not be afraid to try because our hair looks thick it lays down the same results.

Your right it does work on all hair types, but it is not a straightener and there hair will still be curly. You need a strong relaxer to straighten the hair first. Then you can use the smoothing treatment. As I was saying you should go to someone who does a lot of the type of hair you have period. Since I was talking to a black lady that is why the conversation addressed black hair.
Please leave the racism to the liberals your tone sounds like you want to start a fight and I don’t play that game.
